1st day - Rome Upon arrival of your flight our tour escort will meet you and take you into the heart of the city After checking in at the hotel, the rest of the day is at your disposal for resting, shopping or sightseeing. This evening you are our guest at a welcome dinner in the typical Roman restaurant Tanagra, including unlimited wine, during the dinner some Opera singers will enjoy the evening with the most popular Opera songs. Overnight at the hotel.
2nd day - Rome Breakfast at the hotel. Our guide and private deluxe motor coach will take you on a morning tour of the Eternal City including a drive long Via Veneto and up to the Quirinal Hill for a panoramic view, the Trevi Fountain, P.za Venezia, the Pantheon and Castel S. Angelo, and the Vatican to visit the Basilica of St. Peter's. The rest of your day is at leisure for additional sightseeing or shopping. Dinner is at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
3rd day - Rome - Sorrento After your breakfast this morning, you will depart from Rome for Sorrento. Along the way stops will be made for a snack and a break in Cassino for a short visit of the famous abbey a second stop is made in Caserta for the included lunch and to visit the beautiful Royal Park and Royal Gardens. After checking into the hotel late in the afternoon you will have the rest of the day at leisure. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner at a typical restaurant in Sorrento, including drinks. Overnight at the hotel.
4th day- Sorrento After breakfast this morning you will depart for a full day excursion to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Positano, a Moorish style village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, was said to have been discovered in the aftermath of World War II. U.S. soldiers stationed in Salerno often used Positano as their holiday resort. Amalfi overlooks the bay of Salerno. You won't want to miss the dramatic approach to this major resort. Ravello, approached by quite a curving road, is the choice spot along the Amalfi drive and has two major villas. You will enjoy lunch en route and return to Sorrento for dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
5th day- Sorrento After breakfast this morning you will enjoy a half day excursion to the Sorrento Peninsula. Included here is a visit to a local cheese factory to view the making of mozzarella and for a cheese and wine tasting in St. Agata. Arriving back in Sorrento we will visit an inlay woodworking factory to see this local craft. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening. Overnight at the hotel.
6th day - Sorrento - Capri After breakfast we will transfer you from the hotel to the pier. You will then make your way by boat to Capri. Visit the Blue Grotto and then travel to Anacapri, the favorite resort of Augustus and Tiberius. You will visit the Villa San Michele and have lunch in a local restaurant before visiting the famed and magnificent Gardens of Augustus and the Faraglioni Rocks. After free time to exp]ore Capri on your own, you will be transferred back to the pier for your return to Sorrento. Dinner will be at hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
7th day - Sorrento - Pompeii After breakfast enjoy a full day escorted tour to Pompeii and Vesuvio. This whole day tour, escorted by a licensed local guide, will drive along the Sorrento coast through Vico Equense and Castellamare di Stabia. We will then stop in Pompeii where you can find decorative mural designs covering four periods. After stopping for lunch in one of Pompeii's good restaurants we will make a stop at a cameo and coral factory. Then on to Vesuvius, the cause of all the ruins you have seen up to now. We will ascend Mt. Vesuvius (3.000 feet) by motor coach and then ascend on foot to the crater. Dinner will be at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
8th day- Sorrento After breakfast we will depart by private motorcoach for a full day excursion to Naples and Solfatara driving along the panoramic coast of Sorrento through Castellamare on our way to Naples. In Naples, you will have a guided visit through the National Museum, one of the most important museums in Europe, and enjoy some city Right seeing. Lunch is on your own. In the afternoon we will visit the Phlegrean Field and Solfatara, a famous sulphureus crater. Dinner will be at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
9th day - Sorrento - Rome After breakfast we will depart for Rome. Again we will be making rest stops during this 4 hour trip back to Rome. Upon arrival in the Eternal City the rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner is at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
10th day - Rome After breakfast this morning you'll be off for a half day city sightseeing tour of Rome with a licensed local guide. including entrance fee to the Vatican Museums. This afternoon is at your disposal for shopping, resting or sightseeing. Dinner is at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
11th day - Rome After breakfast your morning is at leisure. In the afternoon you will visit Villa d'Este, one of the most enchanting villas of the late Renaissance period, with its cascades, artificial grottoes and pavilions. Dinner will be in a typical local restaurant in Tivoli, including unlimited wine. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
12th day - Rome Today you will have the day at leisure to experience Rome as you like. Perhaps you might like to take a full day optional excursion to Assisi or to Florence. This evening you are our guest at a farewell dinner in the typical Roman restaurant Tinello, including unlimited wine. Overnight at the hotel.
13th day - Rome After breakfast transfer from the hotel to Leonardo da Vinci Airport in time to board your return flight. We hope you have enjoyed being with us as much as we have enjoyed being with you.
